 The festival is organized by the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and is held every year in November. Every year since 2013, the Cherry Blossom Festival has been celebrated in Shillong, India. Visitors come from all over to see the beautiful flowers and enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Cherry Blossom Festival is a wonderful event that everyone should experience.

Shillong prepares to host the Cherry Blossom Festival. The festival’s goal is to promote music, art, and culture while paying homage to the ethereal beauty of the blossoms that draw many visitors to the eastern state. It also serves as a platform for artists to assemble and cooperate.

What are the events in the Cherry Blossom festival?

The festival, which is taking place this year from November 17 to November 26, will provide attendees with a range of entertainment options, including competitions, art exhibits, music performances, and more. There will be music performances, a beauty pageant, and vendors promoting the region’s cuisine, wine, arts, and craft. The celebrations will have a wide range of options for food and drink alternatives. The event will also include a photo exhibition. You can also enter a cherry blossom photography competition this year.  You may also take a walk under the brilliantly lighted-up cherry blossom trees in the night sky and have a wonderful dining experience.  Rock concerts, traditional folk music, unplugged western music, dance performances by North East Indian indigenous, and k-pop performances will be featured along with bike rallies and storytelling sessions.

The event will take place at Polo Grounds (17 to 26 Nov). It will feature performances by the well-known band Magic, DJ-producer Jonas Blue, and HRVY. The Assamese pop star Papon, the Portuguese rock group Hybrid Theory, DJ-producer and music curator Nikhil Chinapa, and the best independent artists from Meghalaya like Jessie Lyngdoh, Meba Ofilia, and the duo Dappest x adL

How to reach?

Fly directly to Shillong from major cities of India. You can alternatively fly to Guwahati airport and then drive 3 hours to Shillong. You can opt for a self-drive with your private vehicle or else you can choose a cab ride to Shillong.
