The road to Tawang is full of splendid views.  A trip to Tawang includes a visit to the Famous Orchid Sanctuary. Stop by the Sela Pass, and explore the renowned Jaswantgarh Museum. Explore the historically significant Bum La Pass and click selfies around the famous Madhuri Lake.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Airport/Rly junction and drive to Bhalukpong.

Welcome on arrival at the Airport or Railway Station and Drive to Bhalukpong - a small town in Arunachal Pradesh.
On the way stop by and have our lunch. Post lunch we will proceed to our destination of the day.
Check-in our homestay, freshen up and relax.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at a homestay In Bhalukpong.

Day 2

Time to Explore the scenic Dirang Valley

After breakfast, drive to Dirang which would take around 5-6 hours approximately.
En-route visit the famous Orchid Research Centre, it houses thousands of exotic orchid species.
Overnight stay in the picturesque Dirang Valley.


Day 3

Time to behold the beauty of snow-capped mountains!!

Start the day early, stop by the amazing Sela Pass (around 13,700ft above sea level) enjoy the mesmerizing view of the mighty Himalayas.
Explore Jaswantgarh Museum - a war memorial that commemorates Jaswant Singh Rawat, an Indian Rifleman of 4 Garhwal Rifles martyred during 1962 Indo-China war.

On the way stop by to experience and admire the beauty of Nuranang Falls also known as the Jung Falls.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Tawang.

 

Day 4

Time to dance to the rhythm of mother nature in Madhuri Lake.

After breakfast, explore Bum La (around 25 km from Tawang). It was Bum La where the 1962 Sino- Indian War took place.
Visit the famous Madhuri Lake, known initially as Sangestar Tso Lake. The lake was renamed after the filming of the Bollywood movie - Koyla, featuring the veteran actress, Madhuri Dixit.
Night Stay at a hotel in Tawang.


Day 5

A day dedicated to the history of Buddhist culture and monuments

Post breakfast visit Tawang Monastery, the world's second largest and oldest Buddhist monastery in Asia. It houses rare artefacts and an imposing statue of Buddha.
After lunch, visit Tsun Gon Thog Jee Choeling nunnery.the Urgelling Monastery, the birthplace of His Holiness Dalai Lama 6th .

In the evening leisurely stroll and explore Tawang market.
Overnight stay in Tawang.

 

Day 6

Driving back to Bomdila,also known as photographer's delight.

Post breakfast, start our drive to Bomdila - headquarters of West Kameng in Arunachal Pradesh.
Upon arrival, check-in to our homestay and freshen-up and take rest.
In the evening, we will visit Lower Gompha and Local Market in Bomdila.

Day 7

Travelling back to Assam.

Post breakfast, drive to Tezpur (around 4-5 hours journey)

Check-in to the hotel and relax.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Tezpur.


Day 8

Time to Bid Adieu!1

Start our day with a delicious breakfast then drive to Guwahati airport/Rly station for departure.
